Colonial button

Here is the colonial button i found as promised. Found this when I was starting to use my metal detector and this is what got me hooked on the hobby. It was one of my first and probably best finds. This was found in the front of the house near the stone wall. I don't remember what it came up as but it was a big signal. When I dug it up, I thought i had found a pocket watch because the dirt behind it formed a roundness to the object. After cleaning it up, it turned out to be an old colonial button. I was quite surprised that it was still in almost good condition even though it is slightly bent. I'm not sure if its silver or pewter but other than that it was an awesome find. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure its a rosette...from a horse bridle....nice find
