Today I got out and hiked a couple miles in the woods looking for cellar holes. Annnnd I found one! I knew if I found anything in these parts, it was likely going to be colonial. Even the old 1830 map of the town doesn't show the home or the road that leads to it. I was friggin exhausted from hiking around for hours on end, so I didn't finish hunting the site. I'll be back again and dig anything that beeps. All in all, it was a good day of detecting.

A bunch of hand-wrought nails

I dug the button, the ring and one of the nails all in one hole. That was a great feeling!
The ring has a glass face and inside is a flower pattern with dots encircling it.
It appears to be an Indian trade ring. Here is one with a similar design: http://www.furtrade.org/wp-content/gallery/ornaments/18-1-ring-05a.jpg

Hi; I'm in Boston; Where are you in Mass. Maybe we can hook up. Just PM me ok. That ring is Colonial. I'd dare say 1700's based on it's style. Sweet Find. There has to be more there. Go for it. PEACE:RONB

Very nice nails. All hand wrought beauties! You're very securely in the 18th C with those finds. Great ring!
