Well I got out on saturday just me and the ticks in a large wooded area. I got the british copper and the other disc very close to each other 20 sq foot area. When I unearthed the coppa i was able to see the first 3 numbers in the date 177. So I got home and used a toothbruch and soap water, dummy me used a stiff bristle brush and scrubed a bit too hard and lost the date. Oh well at least its colonial. The other disk is so far gone but I gave it a bath and have been looking at it under the loop, it is the size of a us quarter. Can anyone else see the very faint remains of a cap? Might be my eyes playing tricks or just hoping too much. Thanks for looking.
Marty

It is very worn but is slightly smaller than a us quarter.

I do see what you see but it is difficult. I sure hope that it is one. I found a 1794 half cent in great shape a couple of years ago real close to where I found a 1794 large cent. I would tumble it for about 10 or 15 minutes.
