colonial help!

[The Crafty One]

I live in West Virginia. Which was once Virginia. An original colonial state. I am trying to find out if ppl from that time traveled this far inland. Trying to find colonial foundations to hunt. Am I wasting my time? What should I look for? Any help would be great. Good luck fellow hunters.

use google or other search engines
punch in west Virginia - cellar hole
punch in town names in your area and cellar hole
you should get links from hikers that have come across them and hunters etc
I don't know if they used cellars much in your area though - I know the farther south you go from the north east - the less you
hear about cellar holes - up north they were used as a place to hide from the Indians and winter storage
punch in colonial west Virginia - see what comes up - there must be plenty of 1700 houses or farms I would think
