Colonial trade weight dug in december, need a time period estimate.

Dud this at a colonial house site just before Christmas. Can anyone provide me with info on the approx time period this weight would have been used? Thanks.

The dagger is a London mark I believe, but never seen a Crown C mark, only G. I'm sure Crusader or others from the UK can identify. Cool find!

1670's Charles II trade weight - Crown C cipher London or it could be Charles l Very nice trade weight.​

- The A mark is for the french (or florence) weight system avoirdupoids (ie. 16 onces in a pound)
- The Sword/dagger is for the city of London
- The Royal Cypher with a letter under it is for the King at the time (G = George, W = william, A= Anne etc...)
- The ewer is an assayer's mark I believe. some time with a date after it.

the position of the symbols also indicate which George we are talking about :

George I - - crowned G at 11 o'clock- sword at 12 o'clock - A at 1 o'clock - ewer at 6 o'clock.
George II -- crowned G at 9 o'clock - sword at 12 o'clock - A at 3 o'clock - ewer at 6 o'clock.
George III - crowned G at 3 o'clock - sword at 12 o'clock - A at 9 o'clock - ewer at 6 o'clock.

So I am also thinking it Charles II with the C cipher… CONGRATS!

as far as i can find out the "C" would be for Charles, whether the I or II i do not know, late 1600's then i guess?

Sword is a London mark & the Crowned C can be both Charles I or II, big different in date, so need an expert to see the slight differences.

Did one have a line under the crown/ or between the crown and the C and the other didn't. Tried to figure it out but got examples of both Charles with it and without the line.

No Crown difference that I know of, more of an expert opinion on metal type, or shape which may vary. Not my thing really.
