I head to CO the end of Aug till mid Sep elk hunting, (elkboy) with bow. I always have a few days that the wind does not co-operate any information about the Walden area or some leads on any resources. Thanks HH Dave

In a US Treasure Atlas published about 15 yrs ago, it lists 7 ghost towns in Jackson County where Walden is in. Only two of them show up on modern maps.
The towns are: Higho, Pearl, Zirkel, Butler, Spicer, Owl, and Teller.
Pearl and Spicer can be found on current maps. Teller once existed with 2,000 people (Silver mining), but closed down due to inaccessibility and can only be reached by packhorse. I don't know what the laws are or what potential there is at any of these sites, but you could check with the county locals when you get there.
