Hit a couple of banks this morning before heading into work. First two had no halves but purchased $106.00 in halves from the third bank. 10 customer wrapped rolls were skunks but the $6.00 in loose coins had that wonderful tinkle of silver in it. pulled 2 40% Kennedys and saw an unusual looking coin. Turns out its a Statue of Liberty commemorative half from 1986. First one of these I've found.

I thought all the 1986 Statue of Liberty halves were clad. Shows what I know.

You are correct, BassMan. Modern Commemorative Half dollars are clad except for '82 250th of Washington's Birth and 1993 Bill of Rights which are 90% silver. Classic Commemorative half dollars are all 90% silver.

yes it is a clad coin.... I don't think that I stated otherwise. This one too is in excellent condition.
