The brass cap is the hasp at the end of the wood handle to your tool . Nice finds

Dido on the buckle, it, and the cut copper are awesome.

don't know exactly what tool you have there, but agree with relic lover, that the round piece with rectangular hole is the end of a wooden handle. Probably used on a variety of different tools. I believe I saw an intact (not dug) adze with this type of keeper.
