Go to your Start button, go to Programs, expand that window and open the Startup menu. Take a look and see if there's anything there that doesn't belong. Or, you can hit Alt - Control - Delete and bring up your Task Manager and take a look to see if there's anything there that looks suspicious.

An anti-spywear program may be in order.

You may indeed have spyware...and if so, you can download what you need to clean your computer, from my website here:

http://myweb.cableone.net/thewitness/

My guess is, your browser settings are the problem.
For instance, I can't do spell check on TNet, if I have "Active Scripting" disabled.

If you are using Internet Explorer, at the top, click on Tools, Internet Options, Security, and reset to the Default level.

Let me know if this doesn't fix it.

Ouch.

Sounds Like you got a Bug in there somewhere.

I had that just before I got attacked by smitfraud & Webcry.

Hopefully Coincidence.

Bomber,

Download AVG, Adaware & Spybot from my webpage.
Install them and get their updates, then reboot into Safe Mode.
Run these three programs. They should remove most, if not all of your spyware & viri. They won't get everything though, unless you are in Safe Mode!

Tap the F8 key as your booting up. If you don't get the Boot Menu...try again.

Oh yeah, I forgot something...if you are running Windows ME or XP, turn off System Restore before you boot into Safe Mode. If you don't turn off System Restore, the Viri will return to haunt you >:(

When you are done, you can turn System Restore back on.
