I just read flight into oblivion and it doesn't mention duchase and the burying of money at all. It does mention it going to Georgia and then nothing else. Not saying some of it wasn't buried in NC but I find it odd they wouldn't mention it in the book.

Just because it is or isn't mentioned in a book does not make it so, wouldn't take it to the bank on that basis. I've heard those stories of hidden confederate gold all the way from here in our area of WNC all the way down to Georgia and points in between.

"Legends" indicate looking along the OLD Rail-Road Track going south from Danville, Va. The WOODS & bluffs SHOULD have "carvings"...
