So it is official I have rented a Cabin in Lake Anna State Park for Weds Nov 22nd to sunday check out. I will be out everyday on the Contrary if anyone gets time away and would like to join me come on out. Look for the Trailblazer with this flag on the back window Going to do some sample buckets for the first day or 2 and see what I find.

Would love to, alas...my job is in the way, I will offer my experience ,if you're putting in at the 522 bridge, great access there, but for 100 yards on either side of bridge is played out, you will have better success further down stream, or upstream, but you can have success, overburden is aprox 12-16in,of barren gravels, but it is there,and I hope you have much success,

Thanks loco oro I think the first day I'll be heading upstream past the deepest point I went to the last time and didn't go past it since I didn't have any waders but got some now so I can pass without getting wet and cold. So I'll see what I can find up there and will post pics and maybe a video or 2

Thanks, made it to Louisa and now have to wait for advance to open so I can get some spark plugs got a misfire so won't make c c at day break lol just my luck 1 hr 30 min til they open

Contrary Creek smells likes hades. Lots of sulfur in the water there. I was there once. Be careful where you walk, there have been cave ins in the past. Don't go alone.

That it is forgot 1 thing I had sitting right next to the door. Electric heater for cabin lol it's still there but sleeping bag rated for -35° so it done what I needed
