I had a quick two hour hunt at an old foundation which was also used as a trash pit. It's very hard to work through the debris, a real guessing game. Found the convex eagle button (sorry about the not great pics) some broken pewter tableware, a plated serving spoon, a crusty antler handled pocket knife, a crotal bell which doesn't seem very old to me and a sterling cane topper (had remains of wood inside while cleaning it)

JM...what do you mean..."not" great pics..!? They're awesome! Awesome pics and an even better hunt! Looks like you have an excellent site there, and it appears nobody has been there either...so I'm sure there's plenty more to surface! Thx for the great post, a great bunch of finds...ddf

That's a great hunt! Love the button and cane top. Sounds like a good site. Keep em coming.

That I don't know for sure yet, haven't found an example online with the two ring back marks , going to check my friends book sometime but if I had to guess I'd agree with you.

That convex Eagle I is a nice find. They are somewhat hard to come by. They seem to be a lot less common that the convex Eagle A. I have only found two over the years.

The button is sweet... but the cane top is shiny!

Very nice hunt, congrats.
