Higher than usual winds seem to have grounded the little ones today.

That's a great dove pic! I'm still seeing red winged black birds moving north. The snow geese have come and gone north already. White-crowned sparrows should be passing through soon. The birds that stay all winter seem to be doing well, thanks to my wife's sunflower seeds, peanuts, cracked corn, and suet. Gary

Thanks Todd
I go through a mess of feed every year in feeding. But the they all seem to enjoy the buffet of snacks that are put out on a steady basis.
The doves are cooing this early am, no wind yet so they're content.
Strange I have met a few folks that the cooing sound drives them up the wall.

Well done to the Mrs and the feeding efforts. the peanuts up here are getting to be a hefty $$$. $47.00 unshelled-$85.00 in the shell for a large 50lb sack.

That's a shame really Fat to hear that, must be one of those years where the population explodes. Though the nature has a way of taking care of everything and keeping it all in balance-maybe that is what it's trying to do with us as well.:dontknow:
