'Cookie Coin' yields a nice Silver Surprise, added Button pic!

Hi All,
I've been using my Safari instead of the Etrac on some of my pounded sites.
Seems the different tone frequencies are letting me
recognize targets I've missed. ;D
Got a totally encrusted coin, curiosity lead me to chip off one edge,
Stars on silver! awesome, another Seated dime :hello2:
NOT! after getting home and giving it the hot/cold treatment,
turns out to be an 1824 Bust, YeeHaa my earliest US Silver
(I know it looks like 1821, but I saw it pretty clearly right after the crust removal).
Also a copper cross, I think I see Jesus on top, maybe Mary on bottom
Can anyone help with info or date on this old looking design? :help:
Reminds me of the medievel stuff from across the pond.
Colonial pewter button with star/flower design.
An ornamental copper/brass whatsit with 2 screw attachments on rear
A really thin Merc,
one of those copper core spoons with design on both sides
And a heavy cast copper piece, from a lamp or burner of some sort I believe.
thanks for looking, & great digs to everyone

Hi Steve,
Never expected a first myself!
Not the greatest condition, but i am quite happy with it.
Here's a pic of one of the flakes that came off it, has a thin flexible layer of silver,
it's not the stony crust, more like silver foil with all the detail peeled off the coin :-\
Best to you

More nice relics and coin Herbie. I dug my first 1830 dime at a CS site with Dman and Tenn. Josh last Fall. WTG and HH, Quindy.

Hey Will, if you're going to find a cookie coin, I guess that's the best kind to find. Is that flake the crust that was layered up against the coin? Nice Coin to find, there hard little devils to find.

Sentinel,
Seems to be a separate layer of metal between the coin and the crust :icon_scratch:

Great find!

That bust coin looks like its been in a salt water environment for a long time. Looks similar to the ones I dug at the oceanfront years ago when the boardwalk was replaced. Keep 'em coming!

Rennie,
Your Id has me thinking this item may be the most interesting find of the day.
here's a ring displaying the 'Tubal Cain'
The organization with hidden meanings and occultist initiations is intrigueing.
http://freemasonrywatch.org/tubalcain.html
I was unaware of a lot of the Masonic information I found on the web.
My Father was a Mason, Never spoke about it, I have his ring.
