Managed to get out around 1pm Sunday to a spot in the woods where I found a Draped bust LC last year, got a few keepers today.

1st keeper was the musket ball, then the buckle , if anyone knows buckles please post some info. It's pretty heavy.

Third keeper is that ordinate one piece, looks like sun and flowers. It's the size of a quarter, any information would be appreciated.

Enjoy photos and HH

DD, Congrat's to you on some very nice finds of the buckle and buttons. Well Done. I'm no authority, but the buckle looks as though it could possibly be a sash buckle of sorts from the Colonial Period. Someone here will know for sure.

I had to take a double take on that button......there was something about it.
Then it occurred to me, back in 2010, this was one of my finds...

WOW! That's cool, I wonder how old they are. What state are you located, just curious?

it's cool to see another just like so far apart

That is cool that we found them so far apart . Thanks for sharing.

OK, some will tell you that the buckle is a Rev War period Batwing.
I have countered this argument many times. Nearly all the previous examples have come from 19th C Sites. The off-set bar is typically found to take thick leather on brass horse harness buckles & I date this to circa 1850.

Excellent saddle buckle.
It is very appropriate to find that button at this time of the year. It's Spring time. Good time for Sun and flowers. I think it's old. lol
Congrats on a nice hunt.
