Found this Friday... was looking in the field and this was found in the last place I checked before I left. I am so excited. This is the best thing I could ever find. :hello2::notworthy::notworthy: buckle_front.jpg buckle_back.jpg

Looks like a masonic symbol in the lower left of the plate on the back, unless it is coincidence.

Very nice. And yes that is a mason symbol on the back. Mason's used to wear the badge on their uniforms so if the guy on the other side was shooting and was a mason hopefully he'd shoot the guy NEXT to you, who didn't have a mason badge on. Unusual on a buckle though.

Thank you very much for the kind words. I am truly blessed, lucky, and amazed at what I found. I have not really fathomed the enormity of it until the great outpouring from the great people with whom I share this great hobby! Thanks again... I lightly brushed it with a soft-bristle. I will share photos of it soon.

I always look on private land with owner permission. This just goes to show there's still good stuff in the ground anywhere you look around here. This area is a hotbed for both CW and Colonial relic hunting. It is harder to find good spots, as areas are getting developed fast. Good luck to you in your hobby.
