I am reposting this find after Mastereagle helped me find what the ring was, It's a Buster Brown comic ring, thanks again Mastereagle.
I found this ring in an old park that has been around since the turn of the century. Also found lots of clad. One pic is the ring I found and the other pic is the ring when it was new. You just never know what is down there until you dig it.
A little history on the ring: In 1902, Outcault invented Buster Brown. This time he created an upper class boy who got in trouble with his pranks, was punished, and finished each Sunday's page with a RESOLUTION panel stating that he would never be bad again. Parents liked this comic, and Buster Brown became the first nationally syndicated comic strip. Buster sold newspapers and products like never before, and his shoes are still for sale today.
