Nice archaic copper celt. It is at least 6000 years old. Very nice find!!!!! Could be older depending where it was found.

Nice find. There is a lot more Woodland period & later copper in Indiana than Archaic Old Copper Culture items. If it was found in Northern Indiana near Lake Michigan it could be the Archaic stuff, but if it was found in the lower 3/4 of the state it's probably from the Hopewell or perhaps one of the later Mississippian groups.

The age is significant because Hopewell copper is less likely to be an isolated find. Old Copper Culture items are typically isolated finds when found in Indiana.
