Beauty of a FLEagle! We don't see many posted. I found my second a few weeks back in good shape, but not nearly as nice as yours. I am no colonial expert but it may be a King George II copper. If not my guess would be a state copper. I am sure someone will chime in on this.

Nice finds CrazySlasher! Love the FE. It is great. That's a lot of coppers that you have pulled from the ground. Once again, GREAT JOB!

Crazy Slasher has craziely slashed again! If anyone thinks that I do good well I do but this kid slashes me craziely. He's pretty damn good! Your a very young man, smart as hell, and very good at finding stuff! You definetly blow me away with all the things you find! I have a severe strong compassion to md and its hard for me to say this but you put more time and research into this with such a sucess and are probably the most hardcore person I know despite how I think that about myself!

You're killin those coppers!
Agree with a G II or State :dontknow:
Congrats on your eagle :hello2:
Your padlock is a 'Lever Type' I recently dug on very much like it,
Seems odd that they would use an iron back.(same as mine)
The earliest I remember finding in my research were from 1850s.
It is likely handmade by the locksmith, I find no manufacturers 'SA'
Probably made 1860- 1880.
Great Hunt!

I was thinking G II or CT copper as well. If it's a CT, it will be my fourth in less than a year. Why does MA hate me so :( I didn't even notice it said SA on the padlock until you pointed it out :tongue3:

Great find! They made those only three years, and only two years, '57 & '58, were circulated. I found an 1858 yesterday. That makes two for me this month from the same site. Another one from last year brings my total to three. Looks like you're in the right spot, keep beepin'!
