I found this a couple of years ago and figured it was about time to share my discovery. Digging near a lake in Northern Minnesota and was amazed when this popped out of the ground.
That's awesome. Did you eyeball that find or was a metal detector used also ?... I wish I could find one, but I'm sure not many copper points made to Colorado, so I guess I'm just gonna have to spend money to get one someday.
Not identical to knives East of the area you recovered it that run longer and curved for one sides use.. , but wear pattern hints of your piece being used as a socketed knife?
Hey tamrock. Metal detecting find. I know a detectorist in Wisconsin who's found dozens of these. They seem to be more "common" around there and Michigan.

Hi releventchair. That definitely could be the case. Both edges are still razor sharp. Pretty amazing considering it's supposed to be between 4500-6000 years old.
Lovely piece, it has a well-made and robust socket. If I had my choice (and lived in proximity) I'd almost exclusively hunt for Copper Culture artifacts, they are so awesome.
