Hello everyone,

I was working an old farm site, 1850s. Found a few large cents and a toasted copper. Can anyone help with the ID, not much to work from. Slight image and a few letters on the back. Looks like R T A to me.

Thank you very much. Now that I know where to look I can make out the date. 1781. Oldest coin by 65 years and first pre 1800 coin. Not the prettiest coin but still cool.

Already happened.... I was thinking Steve can't recognize an Irish Halfpenny! How many years detecting? :laughing7:
