just figures. when i moved here i saw this park. right on the main road

the classic abandoned school site. somewhat different than most

in that the school buildings were sold off and a fence erected.

all the playground and ballfields were kept for the city as a public park.

some old codger own the building and its nogo.on his side.

so i said, well this park is way to obvious, but i bet i pull a few

oldies. i was anxious to hunt it. i concentrated on that fence.

at first staying near it. well except for some tantalising early

wheats 09-16 about 10x nothing really good no silver.

damn. well i knew everyone in 5 counties had been

detecting there since the late 60s. but i thought well

i have more modern equipment. then i started running into

a lot of clad. no problem ill use my silver umax and clean up

on it quickly.probly i find a few silver too. well i cleaned up on the clad

still no silver after 20 visits. so everyone got the ez silver

now hit it hard with the e trac. another 20 visits. a few wheats

plenty of real deep early memorials and one lone 1906 v nickel.

that was all about 2 years ago now. i would sadly pass this

site almost everyday and think how it had skunked me.

i called it ultra stubborn park for its refusal to give up any silver.

and i was forced to pass it often as right on the main rd.

so today i was forced to go there once again. it has been bone dry here

we just getting rain as i write first in weeks.

i had visited about 10 days ago to do a quick clad score

from the obvious places.

and there wasnt much this year.

because it was exceptional drought this was my last chance

for a plce to dig becuz it has somewhat sandier soil.

even w my big digger i could hardly penetrate the ground.

so fire up the etrac. here goes nothin. pretty soon

a wow loud coin signal . boy this sure looks good.

geez a 44 merc FINALLY i had broken silver. i looked at the sky

checking for ufos with detection assist rays. nothing.

i looked at the ground it was bone dry . no halo effect here.

checked the machine, same settings i usually use. hmmm.

i guess i just hit that one square inch i had missed in 100s of hours

well so i did it. thats that. now i can drive by in peace.

might as well try a little longer....so there was one lone silver

out here after all... another loud signal. WHAAAAT THE HECK

the detector is screaming. AHA WELL lets get the other detectors

out of the car and see if they coulda found this. sure enuf they all sing.

even the lowly bounty hunter. and dig sure enuf ,

ANOTHER MERC ! THIS TIME 1920.

by this time i thinking barometric pressure or x rays.

but no. after this the etrac found 7 or 8 coin like signals

of 10-13 x 39-45 . how in the heck did i ever miss them

? some were junk and 4 were wheats.

so what caused this phenomenon ?

ive decided correct conjunction of the planets...

NO PLACE IS EVER HUNTED OUT EVEN IF IT BEEN POUNDED

I POUNDED it many before did also and yet two silver calmly

waiting to be found. signals that even a cheap machine could find and

still there.

time to go back for another 100 hours. :laughing9:

excellent finds, a very facinating story as to how we ALL have to keep in mind that no area is ever hunted out. H.H.

I totally agree... No area is completely hunted out... If you've got that feeling that it's a good site and there should definitely be something there, keep trying.... You're bound to find a keeper...
