I bought this old photo yesterday and am trying to determine what is pictured here. Definitely {I think!} a Caucasian lady and child. but the figure in the background appears to have on some sort of uniform. Confederate
Also, he appears to be possibly African American. The picture quality is so poor because of my camera and the glare of the curved glass that it may be impossible to tell.
Also, I wouldn't have thought they would have large photos under curved glass during the Civil War period. Any help you can give me would be great! Until then, I will be on the lookout for a better camera1 Thanks!
