This was half out of the ground and as clean as it shows now, there were also some same color chips in the area = sloped high ground near water in Old Oak Forest, there are still alot of Oak woods here in the chicago area... The pics with the 2 pieces shows the new one with last years find..........

Those look like preform or exhausted cores. They could have been used as a scraper/tool. If you found chips/flakes also I would check that area better. Rake the leaves using a hard rake, and return after a hard rain may help if you found these in the woods. Thanks for the view/pics.
