Detector(s) used
Treasure baron with Goldtrax
just a thought if the electronics in a metal detector were designed in such a way as to be in a card format that could unclipped and a new one inserted this would be just like getting a new detector yea sure the coils are different on other models but couldn't the software built in to them take this in to account and do the biz is this practical thanks

Discovery Electronics made the Treasure Baron a few years ago that had several cards that one could add to the basic detector. They're still making a version of the Baron, but I believe it is a complete unit, no slot for cards.

Although metal detectors are a big business , they are not a
MEGA business and there is a lot of competition. So there is
not the huge profits like in some other industries , and I guess research and development funds are probably somewhat limited.
If as many people bought metal detectors as bought computers
you would have all the best minds in the world working day and
night to improve the capability's of detectors.
but I'm kinda glad everyone don't have a metal detector ;)
