Couldn't resist one more trip to the woods.
This time I hunted a wooded area on the other side of the road from where the entrance to the amusement park was located. I had hunted there before and hadn't found much. I discovered that at least one other person has been hunting there. I filled in some of the holes he left. This didn't discourage me, however, as I usually do well following up a sloppy hunter. As a matter of fact, my first find was a nice 1902 Barber Dime, which was 6 inches deep, just off a path up a hill. Then I found a couple Indian Heads and few Wheaties and a Buffalo nickel. I also found a 1910 Canadian 10 Cent Piece, which had apparently been dipped in gold and made into a pendant. The gold tint really got me excited. But when I rubbed the coins edge I could see the silver. It's still a neat find.
Here's the Barber Dime:
The Canadian 10 Cent Piece pendant:
An 1881 Indian:
A 1921 Wheatie:
The other coins are not in the best of shape.
