The top item looks like a Sword Hanger!

Is there any design on the other side of it?

Thats what I thought it was. There is no design on it that I can see. In the same area is where I found the wreath buckle that I have posted in Best Finds.

Could you post a clearer photo with something for scale?

Sorry the pictures are not as clear as everyone would like, but this is the best I could do. Worked on it a little. Hope this is better.

I have pounded that area day, after day. Heat, or not. I'm going to keep looking everytime I go to this area.

Keep up the good work. That is most certainly a sword hanger.

Agreed. If you look close at the hanger does it have a design on it or is it smooth? Some have a very slight raised design on them. You will have to look vey close to see it.

I have looked the hanger over pretty good. Its crusty, and hard to see anything. I didn't want to damage it. I keep checking it to see if I missed anything though.

Yes I have a found Republic of Texas Army Staff button, Texas Navy buttons, Texas Marine corp. button, lots of flat buttons, flower buttons, and one flat button with US on front of it, and United States on the back. I believe the Wreath buckle came from the same period. Today I found to top part of Texas Navy Button. It is in the upper left of the photo. Added some pictures of the other buttons.

This is the only things I've found that relates to whisky. I wish I could find a complete bottle. Maybe I'll be lucky one day, and happen up on one.
