Counterfeiter caught selling to famous Detroit pawn shop of 'Hardcore Pawn'

DETROIT -
Kenny-Smith-jpg.jpg
He might qualify as one of Detroit's dumbest criminals.
Kenny "Boom" Smith was busted by the U.S. Secret Service for making and passing counterfeit money. Smith must have thought his funny money skills are pretty good because he attempted to sell both his counterfeit cash and his counterfeiting machine to a pawn shop. Not just any pawn shop, either.
American Jewelry and Loan is where the hit TV show "Hardcore Pawn" is shot.

Maybe he somewhat knew he would go to prison eventually and maybe this was his way of proving to his future fellow inmates he didn't do a rape crime in hopes they would leave him alone!

Or better yet, maybe he missed "male" companionship and wanted to go back! :laughing7:

A young man with an eye to the future? Some folks would consider this as a sort of "public job application" showing his "skills" so that when he gets out he can get a job with a nice "big family" in organized crime.

From the looks of the money on the link it seemed he used a $5.00 bill to make the $100. While I was selling motorcycle products in Hot Springs, Ark for a rally a few years back there was a motorcycle club later to be determined, (won't mention who), but one of my friends there who is a police officer came around during the first day of the rally and said counterfeit $100's were going around the first week just prior to the rally and that the consino had been getting the majority of fakes as well as some places around the town and they were hunting the culprits. The PD went around to all the vendors and warned us.

By the time the next few days came around, they realized it was some members of the MC, (due to video surveilence in the casino and a few other places), and of course they had already left town!

Guess now in much harder economy with crime going up, I guess some may enchange fake denomination of currency for legitiment currency!
