Hi,
Would anyone out there care to hazard a guess as to the value of this old county seal? The seal is solid silver (excluding the handle.
It was found many years ago at a small flea market in Central Virginia. A partial letter from the Historical Society in Monroe County apparently verifies this as being the original early 1800's seal for county documents. How in the world it ended up at a flea market in Central Virginia is anybody's guess!
In any case, I would LOVE to know what people would assign as a value to this historic old piece!
Thanks!

P.S.--Monroe County officials did borrow the seal and used it to cast their bicentennial medal It depicts the old seal (eagle and Monroe County) on one side and the newer seal on the other. It turned out to be a beautiful medal, and the County graciously gave me a free complimentary one for use of the old medal.
