My brother and I got out for a quick hunt today. It turned out to be an alright hunt but the finds are becoming fewer and farther inbetween at this playfield. My first dig of the day was the 1944 S War Nickel, which turned out to be my best. My brother found the 1950 S roosevelt, and the two wheats which are 1957 D and 1930 S. We also turned up some clad and an older looking spoon that has 1847 Rogers Bros AI on the back. If anyone knows anything about the spoon let me know. Thanks for looking and HH

I haven't found any war nickels this year. My buddy finds them all the time, and makes sure to rub it in real good.

Your spoon is plated silver, but it looks to be a pattern called "la vigne"(sp?). In very good condition, a La Vigne spoon can get as much as $45. Yes, for a spoon. That is, remember, if it's in REALLY nice shape(aka "undug"). Pretty cool tho', you can tell everyone that you got a key date spoon, I'm actually kind of impressed. My wife collects silverware so I've been given an ed-U-macation.
