I don't do much garage sale hunting, but I did stop at a neighborhood sale close to home to have a look. On a table of one there was a little pile of costume jewelry and maybe a dozen little souvenir spoons. All the little spoons were cheap chrome modern ones but the one and I asked how much each are after I spotted the only silver one out of the others. The lady said she was thinking 50 cents each. I gave here a dollar on this one. Stopped by 3 others and saw nothing and at the 4th stop I picked up this penny collection 59' to 82' for 3 dollars. Quite a bit more than face value, but I thought it was cool that these penny's had never seen much circulation.

Odd that it was marked 13g and date but not priced accordingly. Your gain.

I marked it. I do that on all the scrap silver so I don't have to weigh it all again. The spoon is a bit better then scrap because it could sell for $18. to $24. to a spoon collector I'm thinking?

I'm thinking more like $10.

Yeah, souvenir soons aren't so highly valued as in the past. I found a bowl full of them in a small thrift store priced a $2. each. I found quite a few Sterling ones in it and I put them up on eBay and got exactly spot out of them. A couple I've sold individually went very well. One was for Baraboo Wisconsin and the other was for Telluride Colorado. The Baraboo one sold for around $45. and the Telluride one sold in the $60. range. Seems ones like those draw buyers who have a local interest. It'll be a while before I do anything with this one. I just felt a little satisfaction out of finding something like this at a yard sale. I really don't do much hunting at those.
