Not been able to get a long enough break to get away to do any detecting off the property so I try to grab an hour or two a week to keep the mind fresh. Well today I finally popped a little spill worth one and a half pennies from the bush line on the property. It's such a good feeling to dig something nice once in a while instead of the shot gun shell ends, 22 cal. casings and the untold amount of iron that mostly nothing just digging to dig something mostly. This one spot is nail infested tried with the CTX a few times and the Etrac so today I thought why not try the 5" coil? A hour later and totally frustrated with the lack of putting things in the right spot I found a new 8" Stealth coil:dontknow: forgot I even owned it :laughing7:. So on it went and off I went into the nails, forgot my earth magnet which comes in handy for sucking up the iron out of the hole. So after a couple of hours, I had a bunch of nails, one knife blade, one round piece of shot, and then the 12-42 in the nails out come a 1820 Bust and Harp ( half penny) token, and under it was the 1837 One Penny Token. They're both in a quick bath and will post up better pictures.
Thanks for looking

This is about as good as they're going to be right now, the Harp & Bust has some work to be done on it yet down the road.

Have to click on the pic. to see anything regarding detail. :)

Those are beautiful, I'm impressed with the condition!

Thanks JC, the condition when lost was pretty good, the only thing that I can't figure out is that the harp and Bust token had been in circulation for a dozen years and it was on top of the 1837 in the hole but has more crud.

I think the Bust & Harp is going look a little like your token on the left Dave, kind of the well done look. :)
Sorry to here that the other knee is giving you grief as well, you'll have to take a rest from all the detecting duties.
I think the Harp & Bust looks amazing Jim! :occasion14:
I know you'd like it to be in better shape, but it looks dam good for a coin that's almost 200 years old!

Yeah, the knees aren't good right now, with a torn meniscus in the left and stretched tendons in the right I'm going to be off work for a while.
Looks like you're keeping busy working on your farm though!

It's sort of funny that when I get something good I still want it in better condition. Though something is always better than nothing when it comes to finds.

Ya listen the RR site isn't going anywhere and maybe the soils will be turned this fall, you'll be healed up some by then. There's the other sites down around the area that we need to get permissions for also, but the main thing is to rest up and get back to the hunting.
