More close-ups pics of artifact pieces from my original post entitled Crazy Piece/ Crazy Hunt. Would be happy to answer any questions you may have...

Going forward, I'll be sure to post pics that detail the pieces I'm posting as I was amazed to personally see the intricate detail when enlarged and can see why some of you had a hard time seeing the trademark signs of what we look for in genuinely worked native American Indian artifacts.

I did not mean for the previous post to turn into what it did as it just kind spiraled out of control, for my part please except my apologies... If you have an opinion, state your comment in such a way that the poster knows it's your opinion as some of you are now eating crow...

Some of you were trying to help and posted constructive comments while others posted snarky and deriding comments which is not a way to welcome new comers or help individuals in knowing how to properly identify artifact if they need the help...

In all seriousness, I did not come here looking for help as I've been a serious native American artifact hunter for over 30 years and know exactly what to look for. I know this doesn't make me an archeologist but I don't collect junk "rock" or debitage. So next time before some of you say to a poster they have a pile of rocks (unless it's extremely obvious), ask for close-ups. It's a much better approach and doesn't make people immediately go on the defensive.

I truly am a nice guy and willing to work with sensible people, just don't have time for arrogant statements and attitudes...

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

I like the colors. What kind of chert is it? The third group isn't worked as much as the others. Looks like they were driving what I call "razor knives" off the first and last ones. I found a lot of similar material and workmanship at Flint Ridge, Ohio last year. I haven't been this year yet. Have an old sick cat and he needs me! He could live another 5 years (he's 16) but he is more important than me getting more "stuff" for my collection. I have been seriously downsizing, not the Flint Ridge however.

I honestly don't know what kind of flint it is as it's the very first if it's kind Ive encountered in our area. However, the pics don't do the color in the flint justice, the stuffs just beautiful!
I'm finding quite a few "razor knives" and drills, so e very unique like the little grey one in my previous post. All I know is that with this much material, serious activity occurred for quite some time in this location and means I'll be finding goodies for a long time, have just scratched the surface!
Take care of that cat, we don't deserve all the joy and love they give!

My daughter calls me June 2017, she lives in Montreal. She says, mom, you know we're moving to California, well, we can't take all four cats with us. Can you drive to Montreal and come get two. (head exploded). We met in Albany, NY and I got them. They are well loved. I'll get pics of my Flint Ridge and post tomorrow. I just found out I bought a rare and expensive and early iron trade ax and am going to come down off the ceiling soon. What state do you collect in? These items at any rate. I have razor knives and cores and blanks and scrapers I have found at FR.

Some tools, majority are waste flakes with post deposit damage.

Not trying to rain on your parade but the majority of these pics are just rocks. A few crude thumb scrapers maybe. Keep looking.

I have a field out my front door, filled with chert. There are tons of beautiful triangular, rectangle square and chunky pieces out there. Not one of them is an artifact. I have only found one arrowhead in that field, and that was the only artifact. I see only one possible artifact, the rest are just rocks in your photos. The first part of this picture series, you have some nice scrapers...and nice rocks. I suggest you head on over to the Arrowheads.com forums. They are very helpful over there, and they have a huge section showing artifact types with pictures. Best of luck.

I have an area that produces a lot of those color's … there was a forest fire about 50 yrs ago there and all the surface finds look like that . I have assumed it was from the heat but It might not even be related ….. but it seems likely … I'd almost bet there has been a fire where those came from
