Actually the opposite. My favourite site is a 140 year old British military site out in a remote location. I actually feel guided to some of the finds. (silver 3pence, penny etc)I feel completely at peace and feel that the energy there is amiable and welcoming. I read that those poor soldiers suffered from severe boredom
Then again my feelings may just be a result of no cell phone reception and pure joy at detecting 'my' virgin site alone.

Here's a story about a find that gave me an odd feeling. I had been able to hunt a field next a very old cemetery, it was a farm field until the 1940's, when the town bought it with hopes of turning it into another part of the cemetery. The issue with that plan is that it floods a lot and it is much lower than the cemetery, and so overgrown that I have never seen anyone ever go down there. Anyways, the field seemed pretty good, late fall so the grass was very low and easy to get through for the most part. I was also digging lots of old musket balls, and other old items. Then I got a pretty deep hit, around a number of 75 on my metal detector. I then saw a long shiny rectangle poking out of the dirt towards the bottom of the hole. I grabbed it, and realized that it was the bottom part of a huge nickel cross. I could tell that it wasn't very old, it had wood inlaid in the metal, still in great condition. I got the chills when holding it for some reason, like their was some very odd energy attached to this item that I could quite explain. I immediately put it back in the bottom of the hole, and continued metal detecting.

I bumped into a ghost one time, probably. I had a post on here about it but I can't find it now.

Wow man! I would have been scared the moment I heard anything say hello that wasn't there. I'm assuming what I asked happens more with people who collect antics from flea markets. Did you stay or leave?
Nope. As a weekly buyer of deceased persons personal possessions for a couple decades at least, I can safely say I have never experienced anything out of the ordinary. Not to mention the various Ouija boards, Tarot cards and books on Witchcraft and Demonology that I have. Maybe all the various religious items I have are protecting me, lol. That show, "The Haunted Collector" is nothing more than Hollywood entertainment. As is all of the other ghost and haunting shows. Peoples minds have a way of playing tricks on them, even worse if they believe in that stuff to begin with. Imagination is powerful stuff. I've only been to Missouri once, but you'll have to show me for me to believe in anything supernatural.

Yes. On the Brandywine Battlefield, on occasion I'd what I thought was voices in the headphones. Apparently it was inadvertent radio noise from the Philadelphia Airport being picked up somehow, as I noticed every time it happened, I could see a commercial jet go by.

On the other hand, there is an ancient site on the Susquehanna River not far from me, that just plain feels creepy. No explanation. They even put in a ball park and fields, and it STILL feels creepy. The Spanish got there about 1575, the English by 1610, just for a visit, and the natives about 10,000 years ago.

You got to detect BRANDYWINE!@!@!@! man I stare at that place drooling every time I visit my grandmother

I know everyone has heard my story of the civil war camp/ battle site before but I’ll bring it back up on here. I wasn’t much of a firm believer in the paranormal till I saw this but where dad and I detected was a confederate camp that turned in to a battle site as the advancing union approached the farm and numerous confederate and union along with several horses died out in those fields and woods and were buried in makeshift graves out there. While talking to dad about where he was going to go I told him I was gonna go across the property to where the confederate had dug trenches that was almost 160 acres away. As I got to the trench site I began looking along the edges of the mounds and paying close attention to any signal I got. I began to feel very eery like I was being watched. I dug a signal and got my pro pointer out and located the smashed mini ball in the hole. As I looked up I could see someone standing in the distance in the woods watching me. It appeared to be a confederate soldier an older gentleman with full brown beard and with a clean uniform. I thought maybe it was a weird chance I had seen a re-enactor but then realized I’m on private property and this guy looks awfully translucent. I put my headphones down and as I looked back up he was closer. He pointed at something and when I looked that direction and turned back to him he was gone. I high tailed it out of there and ran to where my dad was at which seems like it took forever considering I was making a full on sprint with all my gear and throwing it over barbed wire fences and mission impossible style sliding underneath some of the higher lower strands. I made it to dad and asked him had he found anything as not to alarm him of what I saw or thinking he’d think I was crazy. He said you just asked me that. I said what? He said I heard you over by the trees about 50 yards away ask me had I found anything and I said no. That’s when I told him dad I’ve been on the complete other side of the property up until RIGHT NOW and the only time I asked you that was right this second. Needless to say that’s when he opened up that he felt like someone was watching him earlier and could hear someone talking but he figured it was just me. After that day we pretty much hunted side by side out on that farm.

I was digging in the mountains of East TN at an old log cabin site miles from any road, all involved and not paying much attention to anything. I was digging a target next to the old cabin when I felt what I know was a hand being placed on my shoulders and no one was there. Needless to say, it was time to leave. No treasures that day.

Another one was we lived on the site of a union campsite and there was a field hospital that the union army had used that was a 2 story home built in the 1840’s. We never had any electricity to it and the doors were padlocked and windows had boards keeping them from sliding up. You could drive by on the fourwheeler at night and just feel a certain sadness where you’d almost start crying for no reason. Several occasions you’d drive by and there would be a light on in the upstairs bedroom. We had always heard there was a secret hideout in the attic at one time but there was no attic that was visible from the 2 story. We got on the roof and opened one of the vents and saw a small one room area with a hand cut oak plank bench with a brass candle holder. We tried and tried figuring out a way in to that room but never could find it. Last time any of us went in there it was broad daylight and my mom and brother and I were digging through some of our belongings we stored in there and heard someone walking down the stairs. I froze because I knew it was just I three in there. My brother tapped my shoulder to walk to the edge of the stairwell to see who it was coming down and when we turned the corner there was nobody and the footsteps were still coming down. We bolted out the front door and Mom followed even beating us as we ran towards the house to get dad. Dad goes down there after we get home and tell him and he comes back with his gun and we walk around and there was no sign of forced entry all the windows still had the boards on them and all the rest of the doors were locked except the one we took the padlock off of to get in

Speaking of civil war ghosts. Have you ever seen the video of the soldier caught on camera at Gettysburg? If not you should check the video out. I'm a firm believer that battlefields in the United States are the most haunted locations and don't get enough credit because they're outside.

I’ve seen that one and several of them. I’ve done some paranormal research since that time and most people think I’m crazy but there is definitely some strange things that go on at them battlefields even in the daylight

I have had quite a few paranormal experiences that I can't really explain. I used to not believe in spirits at all. I remember when I started to believe in the paranormal. When I was 16 I was staying with my girlfriend at her parents house. This house reminded me of a plantation, long drive way, surrounded by farm fields and the house had to be from the 1800s from the way the brick work looked.
It was me and my girlfriend's family they was all setting in the living room and I was outside messing around. I heard the most awful screams you would hear if something bad happened. I walk in and everyone in the living room is crying from fear. Literally crying. After taking awhile for them to calm down they finally told us what happened. Apparently they seen an woman in period era dress walk into the living room and disappeared.
I can't say for sure this happened but I know for fact that the house was charged with some kind of energy. Almost like a static electricity. They said they never thought the house was haunted. So I don't know if it is or not. What I do know is there are some mighty fine arrow heads on that property.
