Hello everyone-

I was making a dump run today and couldn't believe what I saw. Someone had bought a box of halves, opened the rolls, and dumped the clad straight into the machine (one roll at a time). >:( What a way to generate additional scrutiny....people like that ruin it for the rest of us.

On an unrelated note, dimes continue to produce well for me but a LOT of 2010-P's are still showing up in western PA.

Went to a bank yesterday and asked for Halves. Lady said she had four rolls but she was not going to open them up for me to
look at. I asked why she would consider doing that and she replied that she has several people who come in and just want to
look through what they have. I told her I would take all she had and left my name and phone number in case they get more in
the future, I would buy all they get.

She was very happy with that answer.....

Hope that wasn't at one of the banks I dump at...

I was thinking about posting something similar, although I think (most) everyone on this forum understands courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness.

Biggest pet peeve ever = people who pick up boxes/rolls at a bank, go out to their car to search them, then go right back in and dump. In fact, I was stopped and "questioned" by one of these creepers the other day who noticed me going in to the bank to dump $1k. He asked me what kind of coins I was taking to the bank. I told him it's really none of his business, but that they were all from my uncle's garage and that's the last of about 20 bags - all kinds of old stuff and I didn't have the time to go through it. He went straight in to the bank and I'm pretty sure he forgot to lock his car. Wish I could have seen the look on his face when he came out but I got the hell out of there :-)

The story about the person who had the teller open up to rolls just to see what they had really concerns me. Who would be that narcissistic and rude?

Also, who the heck opens rolls and dumps them at the same time??? Reminds me of my grandma's dog who would poop at the same time she would eat. It's efficient, but really not nice to watch.

Bottom line - RESPECT YOUR PROVIDERS, FOLKS. Respect is the biggest thing here. Have a mutually beneficial relationship with primary your pickup and dump banks (i.e. deposits, loans, investments, etc.) and treat the tellers with respect.

I don't think we have to preach to this choir about this. Its the other 99% of CRH searchers that never have looked at this forum (or have seen the CRH banner finds) that continue to be the problem. Just talking to someone here the other day told me a story of a guy that brings in 2 - 5 gallon buckets of halves to dump into the coin machine. This is a bank that I dump at and it pisses me off someone would haul in that many coins at a time. Talk about bringing unneeded attention to yourself and this hobby. The other thing is the d-bag that brings in his dumps in a half box after he has carefully picked the end of the rolls open, picked the silver out, then refill them with clad and tries to re-roll the end back up. Then turns each end down to the bottom and returns the box. I have received a few of these and only take them to keep my bank happy not to have to return them. Although I think I found his supply bank and they will let me cherry pick his boxes which is a good thing.

I just don't understand how some people can have such a lack of respect or decency sometimes. Just curious though, about how many halves will 2 - 5 gallon buckets hold? Seems like an awful lot to dump all at once.

I think it was something like $2500 to $3000 per bucket if I remember correctly.

I don't think it involves respect or decency. More like a lack of common sense, there's alot of that going around nowadays.

My favorite was when the new teller at my dump bank asked the manager if they take bags of coin, and how to enter it. She replied "Enter it as a straight deposit for the dollar amount", She then said "I didn't know we did that" to which the manager replied "Only for him".

Take care of yur tellers and they will take care of you.
Look up the CRH "rules" and they will do you well.

Heard 2 different stories of peeps dumping at TD bank. Td machines usually fill up at 100 dollars worth of halves ,dollars also i think . 1 guy brought in 3500 dollars worth of halves tieing up a teller for 45 minutes and running out of bags. He was asked not to return like that. 1 woman ordered 3 boxes of dollars ,goes thru them in the car and returns to tie up a teller and also run out of bags. Note that no bags means no machine till bags are received. Some peeps just have no brains.

The TD machines near me take $500 per bag. Two are set that way and the others just fill the bag 5 times. I rarely bring more than $1000 in halves at a time. One woman from a nearby town brings $3000 once a week.
The fellow that was asked not to return was told wrong. TD's policy is to take whatever comes in, no matter the amount or how often. I know this because I have some VERY helpful tellers at my local TD's-and one of them is my brother so he did some investigation on the matter.

never saw anyone searching at the bank yet but i did see some tellers opening rolls and dumping them in the machine. turns out they were just topping off the nearly full bags and replacing them.
as far as the guy dumping the buckets full.....i have seen this too. turns out the guy owned a vending machine business and had a business account. so lets not assume that everyone is screwing the pooch. sometimes things aren't always what they seem.

Sorry to bust your bubble but these were all halves and I dont know if any vending machine that takes half dollars unless the guy was running his own casino. No, this was a CRH and he was being a jacka$$ and runining it for everyone.
