That’s quite a knife, I’d never heard of one but I am amazed by the history of it! I sure wouldn’t want to face one!

Last night I attended the Golden Corral Veteran Appreciation meal.
I was sad that my Friend that I mentor couldn't attend....

I kicked in $ seriously to the DAV Folks who were there and ate like it was Thanksgiving, which to me, it was.

Before I began eating, I bowed my head and gave thanks for being in the company of so many who, like myself gave an oath to protect and defend America. I then gave thanks for being an American.

When I finished my meal, I sought my server, who kept my coffee cup filled, with plenty of creamer, told her that I appreciated her service to those whom have served, and handed her a generous tip. She hugged me and thanked me for my service to America.

I did not walk out to my car, I waddled out! :laughing7:
------------

Today, as I was replacing a riser on a jack, Shannon came over and said, "Don't bring a lunch tomorrow. Jason, (Vice President of the Facility), said that the Maintenance shop has shown a significant savings in costs due to the work that Tristan and I have put in and that Lunch will be paid for at Texas Roadhouse!"

Folks, I can't remember when I have eaten so well.
Perhaps when I was the Kitchen Manager at the Sorority years ago....

A far cry from ramen, eh?

Hope all are Healthy and Happy!

Best,

Scott

I was humming this tune in my head all day long.....

Best,

Scott

Commentary:
I was raised in a middle income Family.
Growing up, my Sister and I never went hungry.
Looking back, I now see how my Mom would squeeze a nickel to make a quarter.
There was always a hot breakfast before school and a well balanced, nutritional dinner on the table every night. I know because she taught me secrets that she learned from her Mother as I would help prepare the meals.
I started at about 4-5 years old by pulling a chair up to the stove to watch and help stir......
My Sister? Well, I don't think she learned too much...Last I remember, she can't boil water without burning it. In fact, She loves some of the meals that I now cook that remind her of "Mom's Cooking."
I was the one to take a cooking class in High School. Because they wouldn't let me take Calculus.....
And I taught the Teacher a few things....
The only boy in the class.
I was the one to have several restaurant jobs growing up. In fact, the first restaurant job that I had was when I was 16. I started as a busboy and dishwasher, then was promoted to "Desserts" the next day, and by the weekend, I was the Sunday morning cook.
15-20 eggs on the griddle, cooked to order,
bacon and sausage simmering and toast buttered and all soon plated.
DING! ORDER IS UP!
My Friend from Kansas calls me, "Skillet" for good reason.....
We were roommates for awhile and he would buy the groceries.
I would cook up for us whatever he wanted AND he even washed the dishes!
Yeah, I can cook.

Tgf, here is a picture of a boat I inherited recently. A 1978 Trojan F26
These were built by the Amish in Pennsylvania (this fact shocked me!). It’s a solid boat. I plan on getting a trailer for it and converting it to a diesel. Probably run a Cummins 4bt in it.

"Tis a Treasure that you seek, my fine lad,
A treasure that long ago I once had.
A chest of riches and booty to fill it,
The Treasure of the Buccaneer 'Skillet!'" :icon_pirat:

Best,

Scott

Let me know if you need more ideas....
Dang! I'm even getting excited about the treasure! :hello2:

Where is it? :laughing7:
---------------------------

For those who are not yet "In On" the treasure hunt,
I have recently received several coins from the 1500's and 1600's from Spain.
My Friend, 2GF, has a Grandson that I feel as close to as my own.
I sent several of the coins to him to initiate a "Treasure Hunt" with his Grandson.

I hope all will follow along on the "Treasure Hunt!"

Diesel,

Here's a link with a bit of history on the Trojan boats:-

Folks,

If you want to do something fancy here's Gordon Ramsay making lobster tortellini with a shell fish broth.
Actually we have some frozen lobster from last year we bought on sale and also made some broth so maybe this would work.

Regards + HH

Tip of the day.
When huddled in a janky hub style hunting blind in downpours dampening the option of a spur of the moment quest for a just right stick.....be prepared for minor flaws in the quartermasters planning.
Seems a plastic fork will not meet the requirement of being the proper tool for warming Vienna sausages on the heater. ( More than one sausage with my fine handi-work anyway.)

Kept the knives clean despite temptation.....
Dry ( somehow) saltines and sharp cheddar cheese helped the cold Vienna' s , and I banked the peanut butter m& m's ,with a few saltines just in case.

I sure didn’t imagine that! I think I have a trailer more or less lined up for it. I need to get it here from Florida though. This boat will live again. I own two moorings in Rockland harbor almost side by side. This one will occupy one and the other will be holding my sailboat. IMG_2119.JPG
