The one with a heart murmur recently developed is on thin ice,the gackin gonna kill her if she don,t quit.
Nope, vet says not kennel cough but a cold type canine virus.
We are administering less robitussin than vet recommended,(plus part of dosages is on me.)
Not far removed if memory correct of a dog with heartworms retching is like.
Phlegm /expectorate is clear and foam. Most struggle is a dry cough with all force possible trying to produce.
Been slowly bringing home humidity up as it was getting dry enough for a bit of static in places. I don,t want dog hair sticking to every thing when trying to clean, especially their bedding.

Thanks Squig.
The first two are much improved. A bit of rasp and occasional harrummph when back in the house after a run.
The balance followed contagion depending on their resistance over a couple weeks, that was with trying to stop it to no avail ,lacking external quarantine facilities making it a sure bet of spreading but myself as a bug liaison possible too.

relchair, I'm sorry the puppies has been sicks. I wouldn't know any advice to give, that could be trusted.
I know when I have a cough/congestion, I always feel better after coming out of the shower or high humidity.
If they were at dog show, I wonder if any other doggies may could a got sick. Can you contact them and inquire?
Others may have called in asking/complaining with their dog sick, maybe they would know something?
I'll send prayers up for puppies, too! Ya'll try to get some good rests, too!

I was told by an attendee who is looking into it many others that attended show are also ill. Even that a person was suspected to have been responsible .
Wait and see. The major club and the politics and rules are considerable, this governing club would need to get with hosting club then approach participant I suppose. What can they do? a ban maybe but no pound of flesh for sick dogs.
Far as I know no action has been taken so nothing proven?

I used to :BangHead: when sick ppl would come to work, coughing, hacking, fever, next thing you know, whole office sick!
Something you like seeing from ppl serving or cooking you food in resturants, too, ya know! :BangHead:

I can understand that getting to patient zero is not only difficult, but like you say, one can't extract a pound of flesh over "things that happen". (I almost wanna say, should be able to smack stupid ppl!, But then, I've been stupid b4 myself, oh yeah, AND smacked!LOL)
If they could find out anything, from maybe someone who has had their dog diagnosiseded, (I can't type tonight anymore), maybe ya'll could know what med's to get. If a few ppl all got same diagnosis, you'd know what you're dealing with. You know, I just want best for ya'll.

This is why I don't like being in big crowds and shopping a lot during tourist season down here. Everybody from all over the country comes down here sick with colds, I try to hibernate in the winter, stay away from 'em all! LOL!
I think I'm down for the night, best and blessings......

Two points of interest:

1. I request "How I feel" by Flo Rida.

2. I hate to break it to you guys but by the time somebody starts showing symptoms of a virus they are past the contagious point. The virus is most contagious during the incubation period in the human body while it is shedding. By the time it overtakes the immune system and becomes active it is no longer transmissible. So why do day cares send home sick kids? Your guess is as good as mine....I'm thinking they just don't want to deal with a sick baby.

Crispin,

Some how by hook or by crook you made it through another week.....I knew that about the incubation period with viruses....

Here's your tune Flo Rida - How I feel.

I'm officially in survival mode from now until Friday afternoon. To quote the great Ernest Hemingway, "The World breaks everything eventually; and afterwards, many are strong at the broken places." Gave everything I had to give today and then more was asked of me...so I gave more. Not quite sure how... My best guess...pain makes me angry. Any empaths out there? "Give me your poor, your suffering, your huddled masses yearning to be free." Good advice for anybody who finds these holiday times trying...just take it one day at time.

Crispin

Ps. I tried to put everything in quotes so I would be accused of plagiarizing. ;)
Permission to come out of the corner?
Pleaze?

I'm about bored.....

I watched my Mom take her last breath this day 12 years ago,
and I guess I still haven't quite gotten over it.

But, as y'all see, I've changed my avatar
and am trying a new strategy for coping with that and "SAD."

#1) I'm going camping for Christmas,
to distance myself from the commercialism and pettiness of mass consumers.

#2) I visited my Friends at Disability Resources to wish them all a Merry Christmas
and gave Sonja one of my "note paper rollers" that I had just finished making a mere 2 hours before.

2-IMG_1013.JPG

I also promised to return to fix things for them after the Holidays,
once I had started my Spring Semester.

I also received an email from the Director of the Honors Program advising me
that I had not shown reference to volunteering,
a requisite to being enrolled as an Honor's Student.
I was unaware of this requirement as it was not a part of the Honors status previously.
Dang confusion associated with College Consolidation....

I replied that although I had to withdraw this semester due to illness, I had still volunteered.
I provided a contact name, Sonja, and the phone number to verify my efforts.
I wonder if there is a specific list of organizations that the College wants one to volunteer to assist?

Anyway,
I had volunteered just 'cause I wanted to help others....
unaware of any type of "requirements."

I hope that it is satisfactory to maintain my status.

In addition,
I plan to keep my self-promise to Volunteer/Intern at the VA. :icon_thumright:

#3) I ALWAYS say, "Merry CHRISTMAS!"
not some lame, "Happy Holidays."
Well, I don't want to go any farther about that....

I'm a Christian, enjoying my chosen way of celebrating.
You choose how or if you celebrate.

See?
We all can celebrate or not.
I'm not forcing anything on you.
Provide me the same courtesy.

There.

World problems solved.

Send check to:
Scott c/o Treasurenet.

Always,
My Best Wishes,
and,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Scott
