Yep, my Dad always said "TIME - was the one thing that would answer all questions".
Was it not the "one thing", Queen Victoria would have given all of her wealth for, when facing the end?

Well, I wanted to remind you folks here in Florida, we have out Treasure Hunter's Picnic next Saturday, 4/26 in Wabasso.

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/shipwrecks/399099-sixth-annual-treasurehunters-cookout.html

I was hoping TGF may would come down with the boys, and any others in the area may make a
"day trip" out of it, for a great get together with everyone!
Remember, bring your own chairs. They'll have some, but.......
There's also a swimming pool at the hotel, check out the link above.
Crispin, GIB, TGF, a few of ya'll that are close, hope you can make it....... :hello:

Hang in there, all of ya'll with family....... or in other words, those that weren't hatched...... :laughing7:
I have a step-child, after trying to help her mom, moved her in, hospital stays, etc...... finally,
packed her pick-up with her kids and belongings, and moved to another state!
Didn't tell her mom she was even leaving or where they were going.
Having to endure some things, lets you know what you DON'T want, in your life!
(I got neighbors all around me, raising herds of kids and grandkids. I never had to have kittens,
I made a choice to just stay a kid....... not have any. :tongue3:)

Ya'll come to the picnic! :hello:

Great posts scott, unfortunately its not showing any of your pics, just saying invalid link.
I still toy around with safes, do a Lil consultation, but when I lost my ability to carry I quit...and I don't quit anything!.
Since I can't see your pics, talking of roll pins..are you talking about the old mushroom pins ?
Feeling nostalgic now..I always enjoyed mystifying folks, like using impressioning a key to their car, using nothing but a blank, a pair of vice grips and a pippin file..would really float peoples boats lol.
Master keying..fun biggest job ever was 830 apartments.

For folks that don't know what I just said, with impressioning a key, you take a blank ( uncut ) key for whatever you need to fit the lock, mostly used on vehicles, take said blank clamp it with your vice grips, and ( tricky to explain ) basically you insert it into the lock and with some up and down motions the pins in the lock leave impressions on the key blank, so then you ( have to know wth you are doing lol ) and file the marks it leaves until the marks stop appearing, viola! Now you have a key...its more involved, but that's the basics.

Master keying is making a bunch of locks each use a different key, while also creating a master key which will operate all of the locks in the sequence, it is quite easy, though time consuming.

Could go into the fine art of opening safes/vaults..but I won't lol.

Mike

Mike,

I did some work on post 13205 and I think the pictures are good to go now.

I'll repost pictures of the safe from a couple of posts later....(#13207)

Best,

Scott

OK over yonder Scott ? Making me worry!

Mike

Mike,

Yeah,
I'm ok.
Thanks, Friend.

---------------------------

My locksmith Friend and I just finished up a job for the Housing Authority for "tax credit" units.
It was about 250 pairs of IC cores (front door and back door) and required:
3 tenant keys and pinned to also accept a core key, a master key AND a Grandmaster key as there were about 4 different property locations.
I did about 90% of the pinning and capping.
Thank goodness for the master-keying program list! :headbang:

------------------------------

I've WAY TOO MUCH homework this weekend and 2 tests next week.....

The Geology Instructor said to bring a compass and protractor to class for yesterday as we are also studying topo maps.

Well,
I wasn't sure what type of compass she meant,
so I brought my geometry compass AND my orienteering compass.
When I asked her which one we were going to use and showed her both, she laughed and said the geometry compass.

I keep the other one in my book backpack to remind me that I'll soon be in my mountains.

Best Wishes to All,

Scott

No its not mine. But might be better than the last one contemplated of a fish hook piercing flesh. Hang in there Scott. Not all personal goals should be easy. Hard won prizes worth the effort.

Part of the homework for this weekend is finishing up my presentation, which I will give on Thursday.
9:30 AM.

Since we are currently studying maps and such,
and a test on Tuesday is about maps, and more,

I think I'll include some slides of my maps.
Mention how they can be obtained, different sources, including archival research....

Show a group of maps I carry while camping and hiking,
I have a copy of a map of my location all the way back to 1785!
Of course, I also have maps including mine sites, quarries, etc.

Well,
Here....
Here's some pics that I may include as slides.

Tell me what you think....
(Of course, there will be talk of "Treasure," and I might throw in the slide of my
Personal folders including specific maps and research notes.)

Well,
Then again,
Maybe not....

"....instructor laughed when I showed her BOTH compasses...."
I've known how to "orient" myself since I got a merit badge at 12 years old in Boy Scouts.
Paid off well when I was in Basic Training and through out the military,
And,
Once again,
This Thursday,
I'll have my thirds, thank you!

She might know more about elemental compounds that would make up a rock's composition,
But I know more about gettin' from here to there,
with/without a map or compass.

I guess what I'm coming to realize is that sometimes being "old" means being more experienced and hopefully wiser....

Oh Well....
Anyway...

Back to whatever y'all were doing.

OK...
Here's some music....

Best,

Scott

Just gave my Landlord a few bucks towards rent,
and $50 for the bag of 5000 pennies he brought to me to search through from the bank,
And I asked about Olive.

He said that Olive was fine,
But Alice acts pi$$ed.
I'm thinking Alice had thought she was now "rule of the roost,"
with Olive being MIA.

Ain't it funny sometimes how you can see human behavior in animals?
Or is it animal behavior in humans?
Probably both ways.....

Always,

Scott

My,

tommy.png

"Appears that it has grown quiet, Hereabouts...."

"So, let's hear some more from that
'Styx' album mentioned earlier...
'Pieces of Eight,'
I believe?"

Last heard by yours truly, in entirety, about 20 years ago....
On my Dual Turntable with a Pickering cartridge.....
--------------------

My "gear" hasn't been hooked up and playing for maybe 20 years....

I miss playing my music, "Au natural."

If it weren't for the damn ads,
I'd say that the intranets are pretty cool.....

So,
Reminiscence with me,
Friends,
As I "crack open the books," once again.

Including the album, "The Grand Illusion."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grand_Illusion_(album)
Tommy sure makes that hollow body electric virgin white Gibson sing during "Super Star," am I right?
(starting about 14:26)

Sadly,
All,
Without Dennis DeYoung....

"....and, we missed out, on our pot of gold......"

I've seen Styx many times in Concert with and without Dennis.

I prefer with Dennis....

I live in such a small, insignificant world,
Yet, I always look for opportunities to make even a slight difference in others position;
Whether it may be man or animal.

Perhaps,
Y'all know someone like me....
One who is always there for their Friends,
But,
Sometimes needs a friend....

I'll always be here as your Friend.
Can I count on Folks here,
Crispin's Critters,
As my Friends when needed?

Science calls it, "Collaboration."
Religion calls it, "Fellowship."
I call it, "Being a Friend."

From 1971,
With Carole King....

My Best Wishes,

Scott

PS.
I "checked in" with Sonja at "Disabilities Resource,"
and here's her reply:

Good, for your wanting to come over to work .
We are ahead at this time .But thanks, You need to get these test done with a BIG A OK .
Talk with you later .
Sonja

As mentioned before,
My Friends....

Folks,

Thought I'd post up this version of a song that most people have heard....this one is by the author of the song.

Buffy Sainte Marie - Up where we belong.

Buffy is such a talented musician,
In many ways....

I grew up listening to her music and it has helped guide my path....

Here's an early version of her instrumental prowess, playing with Pete Seger....

(I once had a wife named Cindy....not the one who shot me....)

Best,

Scott

Folks,

Another tune by Buffy Sainte Marie - Until it's time for you to go.

Bill,
You obviously hold the same respect and admirations of Buffy as I.

For your pleasure,
I post this....

(Sorry for the "Politics" in the vid, but....)

My Best,

Scott

PS.

I volunteered to serve America only a few years later in 1977.
(One of the best decisions of my life.
Next would be seeking my College Degree.)

Viet Nam Vets were despised.
NOT in my eyes!

I've known and served alongside many 'Nam Vets,
And Brother,
They're America's lost Pride.

I always look forward to Veterans Day,
When free meals are offered to Vets at the "Golden Corral."

In the long and winding line towards chow, without having to stand at Parade Rest,
I visually scan the folks ahead and behind me in line.

I have, for the last 4 years, been able to find the lone Veteran, as myself is also,
just looking for some gratitude.

I strike up conversation in line, we agree to share a table,
and,
Soon,
I make sure that he feels gratitude.

I'll soon have him talk of his kids and grandkids, where he goes fishin',
And, give him a firm handshake,
And thank him for his Service.
And he knows,
That he is never alone as an American Veteran.

Scott,

She's a pretty special talent.....I had a big crush on her back in the 1970's......she was born in Fort Quapelle, Saskatchewan and raised by relatives in Mass...presently living in Hawaii I believe.
