Not one to get caught up in "soaps" like "As the Worm Squirms" and such,

But,

WHO'S RJ?

Do they savor debate?

I never drank coffee in the field I put it in my mouth like "dip" to stay awake on them long nights.......you know the ground up coffee in MRE's? Hehe

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

2GF, my Friend,

I remember sitting in a bunker, in Germany, during winter,
"Down Range"
of the Nike-Hercules Nuclear Missiles,
Where "fire producing items" were forbidden,
during a Battalion "TAC-EVAL."

Shivering from the cold overnight,
When daylight came, you were glad to see the supply jeep coming.

No, this was before MRE's.
I'm talking C-Rats.

You were screwed without this....
p-38.png

Needless to say,
When fire or "heat bags" are not available,
The coffee is cold.

Even heated and all the sugar in the world barely makes it drinkable.

I have better coffee on a cold, damp winter's morning in my Mountains!

Never thought about using it as dip.....

Best,

Scott

It's really amazing how our life adventures and time change our perspectives. I can remember a time when "The Andy Griffith Show" did nothing but portray small town Southerners as wide eyed bumpkins. Now, if I watch an episode, I can see how the show actually promotes morals and have subliminal teachings that we can all respect in today's cruel world. Trust, honesty and the love of family, friends and neighbors were part of the "bumpkin" culture and I miss that.

I could not have said it better, my Friend.

All of my life, I've been searching for the dream of the values of a small-town Southern way of life.
Where you know your Neighbors,
And care about them as your own Family.

I'm not sure if that place still exists....

I'll continue searching.....

My Best Wishes,

Scott

Across The Universe, eh?
Edge of the Universe....
Any difference?

Reminds me of this from about.....
Well,

That long ago, OK?

I remember the P38 (can opener) I think it was called. The C-Rats also came with a small pack of cigarettes, about 4 or 5 in a pack. Don't remember which.

Anywho- went to the beach to redeem myself and wasn't coming back without a ring...

Innocence lost. Ideals like quicksilver. Fragments exist but change when revisited. My little hometown not so little today but some ghosts show here and there.
The village near me was found one night when wandering. Sat on a bench around 1 A.M. on a summer night. One pedestrian passed by and peeked in the bar window across the street and kept going. Said it would be all right to live nearby. Decades later though a different county than the one I,m in its one of the lowest income places in its but still holds the feel I miss of a slice of America under a younger sky that all most matches places I need to know exist like you your mountain. But we never know. Lots of towns in different places.

Ah, my Friend,
Do you remember the "John Wayne" bars?

Best....

OH! And the trading that resulted...?

By the way,
Nice find. Hope it proves worthy of time spent....

Would you use the cigarettes as dip, having no "flame producing" abilities?

Hence: "Skoal" in the bunkers...

Thank you for sharing...It brought memories of times past.
And tears for those not able to attend....

Surely I owe you a beer or a hot cup of coffee at my campsite.....

Soon, my Friend...

Missed it by a year or two.
Yet still served alongside my brothers who were there.
No stories, Friends.......

Horrors I cannot post of.....You know what I'm talking about, 2GF, right?

My Best Wishes for a Fantastic Week ahead for
All of my Friends!

Pictures or Video clips?

Hmm?

How 'bout neither....

Scotty, Scotty, Scotty, you are certainly one pugnacious fellow!
I will forgo berating you over paying for my red ribbon, and just be grateful for your generous kind heart. Thank you friend, I hear the song from Cheers in my head about this place. ( later I'll find a way to get you back!)

As to RJ, he's redjamescash. we like to joust on various topics. And now you enable me to see him and others in the political forum.
