Quick question for you folks...theoretical that is. Let us pretend that you do not own a gun and have never shot a gun in your life. Now, let us pretend that you find yourself in the unfortunate situation to believe that you and your family may be in imminent danger. You, theoretically, take stock of your samurai sword and guard puppy and decide that just ain't cutting it. Who would you call with you life and the life of your family on the line? I know who I would call.

DJs...if you please...a dedication to TH and GIB....the Beatles, "I get by with a little help from my friends."

God bless all,

Crispin

Ps. "Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river. The Three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeful striking hammer of God!"

Hypothetically I would not be in such a position. Depends on time of day if I were though, to determine who can arrive with support soonest..

Your first error is to not have contingency plans.

Without getting political, One must be self able to protect themselves and those loved.
Do NOT count on 911.
Do not count on the government.

Friends,
I do not own a firearm,
But let me tell you,
I know that I'm always able to protect myself from crazy people in town or bears in the woods.

Most times I've found,

differences can be settled through discussion and understanding.

Bears?
Not so much.

Other tactics are needed.

Good to hear from you, Friend! :occasion14:

Hope life of late has treated you better than you deserve! :laughing7:

Best Wishes,

Scott

Here's an observation I've made tonight.....

I removed my hair bands, all 6-7,
and brushed out my hair.
Dry, thick, curly hair.
(I use moisturizer...just haven't found the right one yet....)

I thought I'd like to hear some Kansas and saw that my hair is as long (maybe longer....) as Robbie Steinhardt's.
And of the same texture.

Imagine my ugly face under this hair....
(eye bleach to the left.....)

robbie steinhadt.jpg

In less than a year, after I graduate,
I'll cut it short and donate to "Locks of Love."
----------------

When I was growing up, my Grandfather was a barber.
I got a haircut EVERY Saturday, needed or not.

What I'd give for my Grandfather to cut my hair one more time......

The style popular then was called a "Princeton."
It suited my many cowlicks, and, so, that was what was administered.
Every Saturday.

Sometimes, it would be busy at the shop and I'd have to wait.

I was expected to sweep the floor after each customer as I waited.

Well, back then, some barber shops had girlie magazines....
No exception here....

My favorite was "True Detective."

In between sweepings.

Kinda the equivalent of "National Enquirer" in the Beauty shops.
I guess.... :icon_scratch:

Ya know, I think I was being "baby sat!"

Anyway,

Here's what the "Princeton" cut and I will look like.

princeton haircut.jpg

OK.
Add about 10 years to the guy.

What?

Alright 20 years.

C'mon, ya killing me here...
OK! add 30 years but not a day more!

Hope y'all feel as young as you wanna feel!

My Best,

Scott

Yes.

Oh, Snap!

I just remembered a song by Steve Walsh,
after he left Kansas....

At the time,
It was my "inspiration" song....
I haven't heard it since the last time it hit my turntable over 10 years ago....

"Ad Astra Per Aspera."
The State motto of Kansas.
"To the stars through difficulties."

My Home of Birth is Kansas.
I have donated and helped curate at my Hometown museum.
Donations of found items with my metal detector including a token from a downtown restaurant from the 20's,
And items found at garage sales including a receipt for boot polish billed to the fire department from the 30's.

Now, by choice,
I'm a "southerner."

But I'll always be a PROUD AMERICAN!

Seems like I'm in a "music posting mode...."

Think I'll go to the music thread for any more posts tonight.

Don't wanna "gum up the works" here.

Best Wishes to All!

Nah, I'm me.

OK, GIB,

You must want some good ole C&W.

Let's see what I got on 78.....

Hmmmm...

Starting with A...Let's see....

How 'bout this one?
A Grand Ole Opry Star, Mr. Roy Acuff!

(Do yourself a favor and go "full screen" here to really enjoy it!)

IMG_1482.JPG
On the "Okeh" label, from the early 40's.

Here's a RARE, early pressing of Roy on a "microgroove" compilation, in ORIGINAL sleeve.

No skips, no pops, crackles, etc.

Yeah,
I've had offers.....

My Best,

Scott

Speaking of Roy,
Let's jump ahead a few decades to another Roy.

A man of unparalleled vocal range, with the exception of maybe Freddie Mercury...

Here he is, a Star musician from the 50's, has played with the Traveling Wilburys in the late 80's,
Known as "Lefty Wilbury,"
Mr. Roy Orbison!

I've heard that his widow has found hundreds of hours of recordings never released....

An early example of his vocal prowess, live....

Enjoy!

Best,

Scott

Hey critters, I is checking in. I been real sick. Thought it was sinus infection/allergies, after a week of fighting, and not too well, evidently. The fever shot up over 102, so I decided to go on a weeks worth of antibiotics.
Got no taste for anything, but trying to eat and keep hydrated.
If any got any idea of some good things I might can eat, post away....... oh! I forgot!
I got raspberry sherbert in the freezer! I sure hope I can taste that!
Thank you for any good thoughts sent my way. mew :cat:

Sir Crispin just a few posts ago I posted the same song by Joe Cocker. Hypothetically I have a hidden arsenal throughout the house.....anything can be used as a weapon....my friends should call me. I am oft times referred to as " The great protector"......Cat, a college remedy, cold alka seltzer, in Gatorade!!!!!! A great remedy! Haha

We must think a lot alike, as I too, have many weapons. It's just gonna break my heart though, if I ever have to make someone eat my Tiffany lamps! But, I'll do it! LOL! :headbang:
Done the alka seltzer cold tabs already..... yeah, lemon-lime, my a........... ???
Thanks RC, I would love a shishkabob, only, not gonna be able to wrap this lone frozen hamburger around a stick. LOL! I'll fry it up, see if I can eat at least four bites, save the rest for tomorrow. I hate wasting food.
GIB, I'm trying to build the body up, not tear it down...... I haven't..... oh my, in days........ I may be cured if I go a week!

The fever trying to come back this evening. I'm gonna drink the last of my fake walgreens Nyquil, keep fever down.
I'm going to get outta the house in the morn, I hope, when I feel better. Go to store, get provisions, meat, fruit, veggies, Nyquil, alka seltzer, etc...... Nope, raspberry sherbert got no taste! :BangHead:
Keep the ideas coming whilst I make a shopping lists! Thanks all!

I'm missing something here.

What does what kind of hat you are wearing have to do with?
