Congrats on the cool finds. The V nickel I found on Saturday also rang up as 12/12. So I guess that's a good tone going forward!

How did you determine the KGIII to be counterfeit?

This one is grossly underweight. At around 81 grains, it's around 50% of the "acceptable" range of British Regal coppers, which was between 140.9 - 167.9 grains.

FYI, virtually all of the coins circulating in the colonies during the second half of the 18th century were counterfeit. As far as I can remember, I only saw one posted on the forums that appeared to be a Regal copper, and it was over a year ago.
