I am reaching out for some good xlt programs that work in that fine Virginia dirt. I mainly hunt in the Loudoun and Culpeper areas.

I hunted up at DIV in Culpeper, and in the end I used the relic program and turned up the AC & DC Sensitivity to around 70 & 40. I also turned up the preamp gain to 6. This seemed to work pretty well. I tried some of the custom programs that are found online and really didn't have any success, the different noises that the machine was making confused me and all I was finding was cut nails and big iron.. I then went back to the relic program and started tweaking it until I got to the point it was a bit chatty. I then backed off on the sensitivity and started hunting with some success. If that's your main hunt areas, I'd consider saving up and buying a Pulse Induction machine. They work well in the red dirt. You'll dig a lot of iron, but you'll also go deeper than any VLF and you'll find more brass and lead.
