Hello everybody I got out today with two thirds of The ba$terd$ of bramble Steve is been on a hot streak on his own and had daddy duty today
so bart and I got out we went to a spot that was good to us in the spring and now that all the brambles died off we were able to get deeper into the woods together we had a great day
We pulled four coppers Bart pulled early 1900s Silver and I pulled a cut eight Reale
It's a carlos the third somewhere between 1785 and 1789 but after cleaning and photos I believe it's a fake I showed Steve and bart and we seem to agree that it's a fake
Thank you for reading happy hunting and good luck

Great day indeed Charlie! I was only able to ID one of the 3 LC's: 1832 the others will go into the mystery green disc box :)

That Cut 8 is something, regardless! Being a counterfeit might make it more rare!

Great digs bud!

Well you know my feeling about the coin C-Dawg, but I can't wait to hear from some experts.

Awesome find. Best example I've personally seen! Wow.

Very cool find, looks like it took a few hits to cut it in half- so there must be the other half lurking around in the brambles.

Like I told you last night, that is an awesome find. It was made to deceive people! I think that makes it all the better.

Best of luck to you Charlie!

Killer counterfeit Charlie! That is some thick plating on that thing. I think I see chisel marks on the obverse... I bet someone when to make some change with their chisel, found out it was fake, cursed and chucked it!

Any silver looking coin that is broken I tend to suspect is counterfeit, and it certainly looks that way with the picture of the edge. I'd really love to find a crude struck one... but it's rare!

I would expect if a silver coin was broken, it would also have a severe bend, it wouldn't just snap in two.

Man, that is a cool find! Great job! Something else to add to the bucket list, right next to a real real ( I got to use it too) which I'm still searching for!
