Met Hutch down in Virginia and started hunting at sunrise.
Had a GREAT time all day long.
Finds:

2 nice horseshoes
Unusual hook
D ring
Part of a 2 tine fork
3 shrapnel (One threaded piece)
4 roundballs
1 fired 58
1 dropped 58
1 50 cal. roundball (What's up with that?)
1 Smith Carbine/Gallager Carbine - Mac Mason bullet
And more JUNK than I'd like to admit!!!

A few firsts for me. It's amazing that pulling a bullet out of the ground STILL
gets me going, especially if it's one I never seen!!!

Nice finds! I pulled a similar strange hook from a cabin site last year....Keep looking, there's bound to be more stuff!

Great CW finds there Ty. I found a hook just like that last week. Now the $100,000.00 question what the heck is it? LOL

The hook was found in the wood in between the Union and Confederate lines.
No road, no house. I really don't have a clue what it was used for.
