That's a domed one-piece button. The backmark most likely makes it 19th century. I'd say 1810-1830

Hi; I agree with Scrappy. The most essential thing We use to Date buttons other than the Back Marks is the style of the Shank ok. So if you take a picture of the back of a button try to include a side view of the Shank to it's Base ok. Most times We use a combination of both to ID and Date a button but when the Makers Mark is missing then We go straight to the Shank. If that is missing as well then We try to Date it via it's overall construction and style. Now you know how to take better button pictures for Posting so We can help you.
It drives Us "NUTS" when someone says "can you ID this??" and only shows one vague picture of one side of the item. In a round about way that to Us, I believe is, just dumb. We are good but We are not Magicians and most of Us just skip answering that Thread ok. Nice Find. PEACE:RONB

I tried dating a nicely domed button with a fantastic backmark back when I was in high school, but she didn't want anything to do with me!

White's Surf P.I.
L & Kendrick (Leavenworth & Kendrick) is the backmark
That gives it a pretty narrow date range of 1829-1834
