Best way to recover from yesterdays heavy night was to get back out in the fresh air!

Not a very productive day, I was hoping the farmers would have taken in the crops on some of my fav fields but it was back to the R*pe field instead.

3 Hours (6 man hours)

17th century flat top spoon handle
poor 17th century token
2 broken Medieval buckles
Copper core of a fake medieval hammered half crown (badly broken)
and bits....

Looking forward to next week :tongue3:

That rock in the first pic is root beer flint. That is some beautiful stuff to flint knap. I make arrowheads and that is some beautiful stuff. It's plentiful in the UK but not in the US. I think there is a creek somewhere out west that has some, but they limit the amount you can keep when you find it. I have one piece that I'm waiting until I'm a better knapper before I touch it.
There is a building somewhere in England that is made from the stuff. I saw it on line and starting drooling like a dog! I digs me some rock!

Some nice finds - - enough to keep you busy at night doing some research no doubt. Do you maintain your own library of research materials and if so is there any you recommend?
