Dead grass

Spent Sunday AM hunting the grounds of the local "events center". Was pessimistic as the grass was 50% dead. That's where I found coins on top of the ground, a leatherman tool and a small watch. This is a place I've hunted MANY times before. There was no interference from moisture. I'm going to keep my eyes open for other such dead spots this spring. W.

These are called "eyebal finds." Think of the older coins that might be under the dead grass that may have been dropped when ther grass was green.

Welcome to the forum Whodom!! Pretty cool for you to find stuff on top of the ground like that. I have a couple of places that I have to "eyeball" too. Ground is like cement!

Happy Hunting,
Moon

hey whoom, wet soil actually helps your detector to get a little more depth. the wet ground conducts electricity a little bit better so your signal goes deeper. at least thats why i think it works! :)
