Just reading up on the closures in Death Valley...

Paved/Front country Roads:

Scotty's Castle Road/North Highway:
CLOSED into Grapevine Canyon (Bonnie Claire Road) since October 2015 due to flood damage. No access to Scotty's Castle or NV-267. This does NOT affect access to Ubehebe Crater, Racetrack Road, or Big Pine Road.
OPEN from Hwy 190 north to Ubehebe Crater Road.

Emigrant Canyon Road: CLOSED due to significant storm damage - no access to Lower Wildrose Road and Wildrose Campground; no estimated opening date at this time
Lower Wildrose Road: CLOSED due to significant storm damage - no access to Upper Wildrose Road, the Charcoal Kilns, and the Wildrose Trailhead; no estimated opening date at this time

Due to the pavement preservation project, Dantes View Road, from Highway 190 to the overlook, is currently scheduled to be CLOSED: April 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th. The road will reopen to all traffic for Friday the 26th, Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. This information is subject to change. There will be no access to Greenwater Valley Road from Highway 190.

it seems like every year they move the opening date for the road to scottys back a year,must be bad.cool picture.
