December "Discovery"

Hello All. Hunted various sites for these finds including a 1900's RR station, a couple of old houses, and a 1950's stable.

Got some OK relics like the GS button, a nice plated "E" buckle and I am happy to chalk up some December "DISCOVERY" and old mercury silver.

Also got my 1st "Solid Fine Pewter" find...did not know there was such a thing as "fine pewter"...seems like maybe an oxymoron??

I love that Kirksville, MO piece, beautiful - a display item for certain.

I zoomed in on the Discovery piece, and it is indeed stamped sterling. Congratulations on a great hunt!

Hello Crusader. Thanks for the reply. Yes when I found it, it took a while for the significance of the word "DISCOVERY" and the obvious connection to our hobby to sink in. I was more interested in finding a "STERLING" or "925" mark...that is what I am saying anyway.

In reality my wife made the connection for me when I got home...(good thing they don't know they are smarter than we are.)
