Recently found out that the school at Delaplaine will be auctioned off soon. My mom attended there grades 1-12 (graduated in 1966). So this morning we packed a picnic lunch and my DFX and took off. She grew up in the area and showed me several new leads such as an old picnic area, where an old country store once stood, and MANY old homesites. Detecting was a distant second today - had much more fun listening to stories of mom's childhood. I did a quick scan of a few areas at the school, didn't find much but there is definitely more there to be found. Gonna be worth a return trip or two. Found $2.22 in clad (6 quarters, 5 dimes, 2 nickels, 12 pennies) and 1 wheatie that will take a little cleaning to get a date.
